With wedding photography being such an intimate part of your lives, Ian prioritizes a phone call before moving forward to the contract stage of his process. This ensures a great fit, as well as building early rapport in your photographer-client relationship.

If you love everything about Ian and his process it's time to get the nitty gritty out of the way. Ian will send over the contract to you, or your planning team depending on your preferred method of vendor communication. Once the 50% retainer is paid, and the contract is signed you will officially lock in your event date(s) on Ian's calendar.

With some coordination, styling, and brainstorming with Ian and his team, the engagement session is an integral part of getting to know your wedding photographer for your big day. Ian is all about crafting each engagement session to be a unique experience for every one of his couples. This is a great time to create imagery that is authentic to the two of you!

Art matters. A unique part of Ian's process is the art consultations. Photography is about legacy. The IVS Photography team strives to help you make your visions come to life. From custom installations that are printed and hand-built by Ian himself, this meeting helps the team know if there is anything specific you want hanging above your mantle.

The nitty gritty. Typically this work is done with your wedding planner, but depending on your preferred method of communication, Ian is always advocating to include you in this process. You'll receive the IVS Photography team's insight on lighting, location, and your family shot list.

The big day! Everything you have built up to and have been dreaming of. The IVS Photography team typically shows up the day before to become familiar with the venue and shoot property vignettes. Sit back and enjoy the day as your vendor teams work their magic.
Wedding Day

Typically, final gallery/video delivery will take 9-10 weeks after the wedding day. After delivery, Ian will walk you through the process of getting those images off the screen and into tangible heirloom pieces for your family to look back on for generations.

I’m Ian, founder of IVS Photography, and for 12 years I’ve travelled the world, told stories through light, and built a visual language that speaks luxury without compromise. Alongside me is my longtime friend, creative partner, and seasoned cinematographer ,Eddie, who brings cinematic mastery and refined narrative from his extensive career in the Lowcountry. Together, we’ve stood behind cameras, built teams, and elevated brands for commercial campaigns and luxury clients — now, we’re focused entirely on you.
Our collaboration merges our worlds: Eddie’s cinematic instinct, my photographic and editorial background, and our shared commitment to capturing the emotion and the vibe — not just the “pretty moment.” Our base in the Lowcountry means we know the light, the landscapes, the architecture, and the rhythm of the South like the back of our lenses.
This isn’t just video. It’s an immersion. From the hush before your vows, to the wild release of celebration, to the quiet moments that happen when no one’s watching — we will capture it all. The FOMO Edit is an unfiltered extension of your wedding film — a complete, documentary-style cut of your day. Every scene, every exchange, every in-between moment — all included, uninterrupted.
Where the highlight film is cinematic storytelling, the FOMO Edit is the director’s cut — everything as it happened, in sequence, with natural audio and minimal trimming. It’s the version you’ll watch years later to relive the full story exactly as it unfolded. This is only available as an add-on on top of general wedding film coverage.

Compassion and craft.
I'm a firm believer in treating photography as a craftsman in any trade would. It is my goal to learn each facet of this genre. From developing my own film to printing and handcrafting your legacy pieces, my curiosity drives me to embrace growth to pursue knowledge and experience from a place of passion, not work.
I also strive to capture the in-between. Identifying key members of your family and being one step ahead of a moment to capture the grandmother crying during your first look with your father, the quiet tears, the quiet moments, the moments that leave their mark on the legacy of your day.

What makes you different from other wedding photographers
Just that. My team and and I shoot 35mm and 120mm film on the wedding day. With this process we should about 20% of the day on film and 80% on digital. We match our digital colors in our editing process to our film to create a look that is timeless. Plus, as nerds of our trade it adds another level of craft and fun for us.

What makes you different from other wedding photographers
Typically, most events that we do are of the scale that having a second, and even third photographer is necessary. This is on a case-by-case basis. Logistics will dictate how large the wedding day team will need to be to ensure coverage that is to the quality that I believe in.
The reason a second is typically a must is that it allows me to be in two different places at once. As one thing is unfolding, I have another "me" to make sure coverage is not being missed.

One of my favorite parts! I am a firm believer in legacy. What is photography if not the preservation of history? To capture a moment in space in time is something I feel we often take for granted with the rise of modernity. I am always more than happy to walk you through my professional expertise in handcrafting legacy pieces that can be enjoyed for generations to come.
All prints are printed directly from my home on a large format printer. Albums and frames are in collaboration with boutique suppliers that handcraft these items. I've ensured that every vendor involved in the process of creating your legacy items treats their craft as an artist. None of your pieces are mass produced, rather handmade to order specifically for you and your family.
